Pikey (Hill) Peak Trekking:
Pike hill 4065 m. This place is situated in southern valley of Everest Region, border with another district Okhaldhunga and Ramechhap. This is the best view point of Nepal among the others. You can see more than five peaks above 8000 m. They are Mt. Everest, Kanchan Jangha, Gaurishankar, Makalu, Lotseshar, Shisapangma, Annapurna etc. Beside those famous mountains you can see many other very famous climbing peaks. They are Island peak, mera peak, Amadablam, Thamserku and many other beautiful mountain ranges. This is not only the attraction of this hill but also the breath taking sunrise and sun set. The pike valley has beautiful forest of huge trees of rhododendron, Pine, Oaks and other plants. You will enjoy watching Nepal’s national bird Emphien Peasants and other beautiful, birds such as the mountain eagle, big black forest eagle and many other colorful birds. There are some chances to see the wild animal such as Langur (white monkey), Himalayan Thar, blue sheep, barking deer, black wood bear,
musk deer and of course, some wild cat family.
According to the Buddhist religion Pike Hill is one of the very important holy place. Every year during the month of July, people from this valley go to worship and offer the prayer flag and Khada (a white silky shawl to well-come or say good bye or to receive good luck) specially the local people Sherpa, Tamang, Magar and other ethnic groups are involves in to this ceremony. This is a great opportunity to meet for those who have relatives behind the other hill and the other valley. When they go back home they collect the incent plants which they will burn through whole year out until the next collection. This is the one of the historical part of this place. The name Pike is derived from the name of a Sherpa clan deity.
There are Yak barns where you can have a test of milk product. There is a cheese factory so you can test the Yak cheese and yogurts too!!!
There are two ways to get in this place, By Flight :- There are 3 airports near by this region, but there are no day by day flight. Some of the airports are under reconstruction so, it is best to take the bus until the starting point and start the trek.
By bus:- There are two roads which leads this region, one is from northern side and the other one is from south via low-land mid hill unpaved road. The other one is from the north side. It is always better to take both way, in and out. So we can make a round trip.
Type of trek: This is a middle class trek. Max. height is 4500 m. it is also suitable for the family. Along this trip there are lots of side trip to exploring around for the beautiful view and if you want more adventure you can also make it. This is very good to plan with camping system other wise tea house is also possible but poor. Not always comfort as your own tent. The days could make longer till 3/4 weeks but this one is about 2 weeks. Please have a look the Itinerary below.
ITINEREARY
01: Arrive in Kathmandu and Transfer our company provide 3-4 star level hotel.
02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing.
03: Drive to Haleshi Mahadev :- This place is a very popular ancient and holiest Hindu temple as Pashupatinath in Kathmandu. Which is situated in the hilly region (altt. 700 m.) in between the holy rivers Dudh koshi right and sunkoshi left. According to the Buddhist religion, the Gururembuhche (Padma Sambhawa) had meditated when he came from Tibet. So there are several numbers of cave and it is believed to be existence since 6000 yrs. So many devotees of both Hindus and Buddhist are go to get blessing and to offering puja. This is a really interesting place be once to get experience of real Nepali culture and religious tour.
04: Trek to Rumjatar: Rumjatar (about 11900 m.) this town is famous for handicraft, different kinds of fruits, the settlement here are mostly Gurung people. They are mostly Ex-Gurkhas Army. Traditionally they keep sheep and product the woolen handicraft. It is a beautiful wide valley
with red earth. Okhaldhunga is the headquarter district of this place.
05:Trek to Gairi Solaghar :- After a good breakfsat Our kitchen crew and the sherpas will start to move for next destination. Along the way you will enjoy spectacular view of landscapes. The local people and their daily life style. The Gairi Solaghar is situated at 1500 m. a beautiful Tamang village.
06: Trek to Dadeli Kharka :- Once upon a time in this whole aria was burned out so DADELI means fire in the forest. People who keep the farm they use to bring their cattle up to this place during spring to summer. This is a very tradition system and it is still continuing. This place is the main source for the local people around the valley. The water, the fire wood, Hays, grass for the winter and summer. So KHARKA means Barns. This is one of the best view point for the first time on this trip. The spectacular view of mountain ranges and the landscape will be surrounding by you. The approx. elevation here is 2600 m. So the high mountains will be welcoming first time during this trip.
07: Trek to Pattale :- Pattale is a small town the altitude og 2800 m. of the settlement around this villages. Every Thursday is opening markets (Bazaar). So it is quite interesting to see the local market and the local product. The major people around here are Magar, Sherpa, Tamang and
other.
08: Rest day in Pattale:- It is a beautiful place to spend a rest day before we heading PIKE. You can explore some hours to experience the forest walk, bird watching and wild animals. You will also see the long range of low land to the south. You will say hello again to the Mt Everest, Makalu and other peaks from Pattale. You will be really impressed when you see the huge trees of rhododendron flower. The villagers will well-come you with happy smile and they will perform a local cultural dance. We will have a campfire and the local fresh food celebrations.
10: Trek to Jhapre:- Jhapre is a small sherpa village situated at 2820 m. The sherpa culture and the monastery is the main atrraction of this place. The panoramic landscape and the Himalaya. Huge pine forest walk with bird watching.
11: Trek to Lamuje:- This day you experience high altitude (3458 m) vegetation and can see Himalaya flora and fauna birds, animals. You find centuries old monasteries, Buddhist stupas and mani stones wall. The yak barn and Yak can be seen time to time. The enjoyable day you will have with different altitude.
12: Trek to Naur 3350 m. via Pike peak 4065m :- Today is the final destination you are aiming to be The pike top. We will climb the peak after lunch and spend some time on the top than we will continue the journey till the camp Ngaur. We can visit the monastery here and some side
trip. You will enjoy nice camp site with the vast view to the other side.
13: Trek to Bhandar:- Bhandar is situated at the main high way of everest trek. From today you could see more trekkers than the rout we choose. The elevation 1900 m.
14: Trek to Shivalaya: This is our last night celebration here to night. Shivalaya is a commercial town after Jiri Bazar. Normally trekkers use to drive from jiri but now Shivalaya is the ending points of the trek. But you will drive through Jiri next day on way back to Kathmandu.
15: Drive back to Kathmandiu 7/8 hrs
16: Sightseeing Bhaktapur and Patan
17: Drove to International airport 3 hours departure the flight.
Trekking Season: October to Mid. December (Recommended) March/June also possible. The itinerary is easy to make flexible to add more days. The itinerary could also possible to change. This is the alternative trekking rout which you will experience the real Nepal and the Nepali culture. You will give a lot and you will receive a lot from such a trek. This is not like
Everest Base camp or Annapurna crowded as Disney World. All those Major commercial trekking aria are now full of noise, full of dust because every where building dusty roads. So there is no anymore Annapurna or Everest as 10 yrs ago. So if you like to help good thing for Nepal choose the alternative routs or help to find more suitable trail for the tourists. End of this trip you will be 2 days in commercial aria from BHANDAR TO SHIVALAYA. If you don´t want this, I could change it from after Pike summit. But you need 2 more days extra.
