The region is still untouched and undisturbed by many trekkers. The strenuous trail is surrounded by flora, fauna, and unique cultural sites. The far journey to remote Mt. Makalu via the Arun valley makes an unforgettable experience. The beautiful rhododendrons and wildlife can be seen in abundance along the trail. The region is conserved by the Makalu- Barun National Park, which has an area of 2330 sq.km.in eastern Nepal. People living in this remote place depend on cattle herds, farming and small – time trade. The number of population is 32000. Various castes and ethnic groups from this population, they are: Sherpa in the higher elevation, Gurung, Tamang, Magar, Newar, Brahmins, Chhetris and the others in the rest, The tour to those places have many attractions because of the cultural reasons too.
